Alcatraz closing for dock repairs — Santa Cruz Business news

Alcatraz Island, one-third of the Golden Gate National Recreation Area, is still a massive tourist attraction, but visitors will have to find another attraction in the coming weeks. The former federal prison will be closing to the public for several weeks while crews repair the docks. The closure won't just hurt ticket sales — the businesses on Fisherman's Wharf that rely on tourist dollars are expecting a drop in revenue while the dock is being repaired.
