The Contra Costa County Clerk s Office in Martinez is holding its annual Halloween-themed wedding ceremonies, known as scaremonies, Friday. Couples get married by county staff dressed in costume. Many couples and even their guests get into the Halloween spirit by dressing up. Some couples decided to go all out. A few appointments are still open, and walk-in couples will be accepted through 3:30 p.m. Friday. Couples will need to get a marriage license before the ceremony. They can purchase one during their appointment. Traditional ceremonies will still be available for those who prefer a more classic approach.
